The Capable & Versatile RAM 1500

The RAM 1500 has been at the top of the full-size pickup truck market for several years thanks to its refined ride, rugged capability, and exceptional equipment. The new 2025 Ram 1500 continues the tradition of being both luxurious and capable thanks to the premium interior equipment, posh ride quality, and impressive towing specs.

In and around Leesburg and Fruitland Park, the best place to find your new 2025 Ram truck is Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM of Leesburg. Our friendly and knowledgeable sales professionals can help you choose the trim with the engine, options, and towing capacity that fits your driving needs.

Towing Capacities & Engines

For 2025, RAM altered the engine choices. The entry-level engine is a 3.6-liter V6 with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. The Pentastar V6 with Etorque engine delivers 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque and a maximum towing capacity of 8,110 pounds.

The second option is a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six with 420 horsepower and 469 lb-ft of torque. This engine, called the Hurricane, can tow up to 11,570 pounds. The High-Output Hurricane engine is tuned to deliver 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque. This engine can tow up to 9.920 pounds when properly equipped. All engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

For the most towing capability, the best configuration is a RAM Tradesman 1500 with a 6’4” bed, a Quad Cab, rear-wheel drive, and a Hurricane Engine. If you need a Crew Cab with space for five passengers, the top towing configuration includes the 5’7” bed with the Tradesman trim and rear-wheel drive. This configuration has a maximum towing capacity of 11,510 pounds.

Optional towing features in most trims include a trailer brake controller, trailer hitch line-up assist, trailer reverse steering control, and a trailer tire-pressure monitoring system.

Well-Equipped Trim Configurations

The Pentastar engine is standard on the entry-level trims: the Tradesman, Tradesman HFE, and Big Horn. The Hurricane engine is standard on the Laramie and Rebel trims and optional for the three entry-level trims. The High-Output Hurricane engine is standard on the Limited, Limited Longhorn, and Tungsten trims.

The Tradesman trims are designed to be used as work trucks, so they have practical interior features and safety technology. The Big Horn is equipped similarly and comes with cloth upholstery, an 8.4-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, six speakers, and several USB ports. Drivers must move to the Laramie trim to get luxurious features like the 12-inch touchscreen, heated and ventilated seats, and optional leather seating.
